Health Crisis Sends Star to the Hospital
Sources revealed that the “Spotlight” actor suffered a severe headache on Sunday, November 16, prompting him to contact his doctor. Following medical advice, Schreiber went to a hospital in New York City and remained overnight while undergoing tests.
The exact cause of his symptoms remained unclear, as doctors were initially uncertain about the nature of the issue. Despite the scare, Schreiber was alert, able to speak and walk without difficulty, and had full use of his limbs.

A Previous Episode of Severe Headache and Memory Loss
This is not the first time Schreiber has experienced a severe headache. In April 2024, he revealed that a migraine had caused him to temporarily lose his memory while performing in the Broadway production “Doubt: A Parable.”
“I was in my dressing room and I had a terrible headache. I thought it was maybe a fast food headache, but it felt a little stronger than that. I’m walking down the stairs and I’m thinking, ‘This is not normal. I don’t feel okay,'” he narrated.

During the incident, he initially thought the pain was minor, but his concern grew when he could not recall the name of his co-star, Amy Ryan, backstage. The situation worsened once he went onstage, as he completely forgot his lines.
“It all vanishes. The play is gone from my head … I know I’m in a play but I don’t know what play I’m in,” he explained. During the episode, Schreiber was joined by his doctor, who is also a friend, and his wife. Both arrived visibly alarmed, which heightened his fear that he might be experiencing a stroke.

A Rare Diagnosis with No Long-Term Effects
Medical evaluation, including an MRI, showed no brain bleed and confirmed that his brain was healthy. A neurologist later diagnosed him with transient global amnesia (TGA).
According to the Cleveland Clinic, TGA is a rare medical condition in which individuals experience sudden episodes of memory loss and confusion. Known triggers include migraines, physical exertion, sexual activity, emotional or psychological stress, and sudden exposure to very cold or hot water.

The condition is most often seen in middle-aged or older adults. It has no long-term effects and typically resolves on its own within 24 hours.
The neurologist told Schreiber that the episode would resolve within 8 to 24 hours and was unlikely to happen again. “I didn’t believe. You know, as a typical sort of Jewish hypochondriac person, I’m convinced that I had a stroke and they just didn’t find it,” he noted.

Ultimately, the prediction proved accurate, as after sleeping, his memory returned, and he was able to recall the entire play. “I never had another problem with it. I was embarrassed and thought everyone would think I was lying and taking a night off from the theater,” he shared.

Loving Husband, Committed Father of Three
Schreiber has enjoyed a successful acting career, earning multiple award nominations and wins. Yet, his life extends beyond his work, as he is a devoted husband and father.
He is married to Taylor Neisen, a former pageant queen, and they have one child together, Hazel Bee, who was born on August 27, 2023. Upon her arrival, Schreiber shared two images of the newborn — one showing her tiny hand holding his thumb and another capturing her little foot.

He wrote alongside the post, tagging Neisen, “So happy that Hazel Bee is finally here. She arrived early in the morning of August 27th and has been a dream every day since. Mom and baby are both super happy and healthy. Thanks to all for the love and support.”
Bee’s birth made Schreiber a father of three. He shares two children, Sasha and Kai, with his ex-partner Naomi Watts, with whom he was in a relationship for 11 years before they split in 2016.
A Full Life, Even in the Spotlight
Schreiber and Neisen, the former Miss Dakota South, were romantically linked from 2017. They got married in July 2023, spending time in the Hamptons shortly before Bee’s arrival.
Schreiber frequently shares moments of fatherhood on social media, including a video from January 2023 that shows them, himself and Sasha on a trip to Nassau, where the teenager became a certified diver.
Meanwhile, Neisen has shown a strong interest in animal welfare. In 2022, she revealed her passion for rehabilitating raccoons, sharing the emotional experience of preparing them for release.
She described feeling both proud and happy when the animals were ready to return to the wild, while also feeling a touch of sadness at having to say goodbye.

Neisen also monitors the animals’ activities with motion-sensor cameras, noting that watching the footage makes her feel emotional. The raccoons she has cared for have formed friendships with a fox, a mangy cat, and an enormous raccoon, and continue to interact with their possum siblings.
